Q: What makes Siltcoos Station Retreats unique compared to other Oregon Coast hotels?

A: Siltcoos Station Retreats is a historic boutique hotel set in a restored 1920s railroad station on the shores of Siltcoos Lake, the largest lake in the Pacific Northwest. Unlike standard coastal lodging, our cabins - such as the Conductor's Quarters and Engineer’s Suite - are furnished with functional antiques, including vintage stoves and clawfoot tubs. We offer a "time-travel" experience where guests can unplug in a tranquil, lakeside setting while still enjoying modern comforts like high-speed Wi-Fi.

Q: Is Siltcoos Station Retreats a good place for a "digital detox" or a quiet getaway?

Yes, our property is specifically designed for a peaceful "slow travel" experience. While we provide Wi-Fi for convenience, our cabins do not have TVs, encouraging guests to trade screen time for lakeside sunrises, birdwatching, reading out in the sun soaked patio, or relaxing by the firepits. It is an ideal destination for writers, artists, and anyone looking to escape the noise of the city.

Q: How far is Siltcoos Station Retreats from the Oregon Dunes and Florence, OR?

A: We are located in Westlake, Oregon, approximately 10 miles south of Florence and 15 miles from the Siltcoos Beach Access Road, which leads directly into the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area. This makes the cabins a perfect home base for those wanting to explore the dunes, the oceans, or the city by day and return to a quiet lakefront cabin by night.

Q: Are there boat rentals and lake access available on-site?

A: At this time, we do not offer any watercraft rentals. However, guests can enjoy direct access to Siltcoos Lake via our private marina and pier. We also offer guests complimentary kayaking. The neighboring resort, Nightingale's Marina, has an easily accessible boat ramp for those interested in bringing their own watercraft. Our location on the largest lake on the Oregon Coast makes us a premier spot for bass fishing and salmon season.

Q: Is Siltcoos Station Retreats pet-friendly?

A: Yes, we are a dog-friendly property! We believe pets are family, so all of our cabins welcome dogs of any size, up to 2 per cabin. When you include your dog in your reservation, they will receive a special "pet basket" upon arrival. After all, what's a family vacation without every member of the family? Enjoy yourselves! We simply ask that you use the couch covers, pick up after your animals, and keep them leashed.

Q: Will I see actual trains at Siltcoos Station Retreats?

A: Yes! The rail line is still active, with a train typically passing through about once a day. The hour when they come by varies so please listen for it while walking on the tracks! Our cabins have been heavily insulated to minimize noise, and guests often delight at the sight of the passing train, saying it adds to the authentic "station" atmosphere of the property.

Q: Does Siltcoos Station offer free kayaking?

Yes! All guests staying at Siltcoos Station Retreats enjoy free kayaking during their stay. Our private shoreline provides direct access to Siltcoos for a peaceful paddle and we provide life jackets of all sizes.

Q: Can I have a campfire at Siltcoos Station during Oregon burn bans?

Yes. Because each of our suites feature a private propane firepit with seating. Guests can safely enjoy a cozy fire year-round. These firepits are allowed even during seasonal wood-burning bans, ensuring you can always enjoy the lakeside atmosphere under the spectacular display of stars in the night sky.

Q: Is Siltcoos Station a veteran-owned or minority-owned business?

Siltcoos Station Retreats is a proud veteran-owned and female minority-owned boutique hotel. We are committed to providing an inclusive, LGBTQ+ friendly environment for all travelers. Our restoration of the 1920s railroad station focuses on sustainable "slow travel" and preserving Oregon’s coastal history and all are welcome!
