Things To Do Near Florence in June

The Oregon Coast has so many wonderful attractions for children and adults alike. And after a long winter, our much anticipated spring has definitely arrived.

Last month, Florence kicked off the season with another lively Rhododendron Festival with many rhodies blooming just in time for the show. And we sent the rain off with a prompt and swift kick to the bootie!

Here at Siltcoos Station, the plants are bursting from their sheaths and the lake is calling your name. It’s definitely the season for soaking up some sun and spending a day relaxing on the water. Here are other activities happening around Florence during the first half of June!

June 3-4 - State Parks Day

Celebrate State Parks Day with FREE fishing, clamming and crabbing. You don’t need a fishing or shellfish license for these 2 days and all day-use parking fees will be waived. This is applicable statewide so wherever you are, get out there and enjoy!

In addition to free parking, Oregon Parks and Recreation also allows free RV parking and tent camping at all state parks on June 3.

June 4, 19 - Bob Creek Tidepool Ambassador Tour

Discover the magic of the Oregon Coast’s tidepools with a tour hosted by the Cape Perpetua Marine Reserve Collaborative.

The Tidepool Ambassadors Tour takes place at Yachats State Park and Bob Creek, just 25 miles from Florence.

The small group meets at 7AM until 9AM to ensure low tide and the tour is completely free (although donations are always appreciated)!

June 6 - Heceta Head Tidepool Ambassador Tour

Tour guides provide another opportunity for you to take a free tide pool tour at Heceta Beach from 8AM to 10AM. Make sure to get your tickets early to reserve your spot. As always, the tours are free but donations are appreciated and help support the mission for future visitors.

June 10 - Rock the Night Away with the June Bugs

This fun and lively all-ages band plays covers of everything from Tom Petty to TLC to Lorde. They also play original music with a dreamy soft-rock sound accompanied by fiery banjo lines.

Dinner and drinks will be served starting at 5:30PM at the Florence Events Center prior to the show. The menu includes BBQ pork ribs and a host of delicious sides for $24. Show tickets are sold separately for $20 and doors open at 6:30 for a showtime of 7PM.

Get your tickets early before they sell out and enjoy the evening enjoying this live music performance! A cash bar is on site as well for those who’d like to throw back a couple.

These are just a few things happening near Florence in the next several weeks. With Father’s Day coming up, stay tuned for more events and gatherings in the latter half of June!
